It was quite impressive watching that Aussie player, Pocock, reinserting his own dislocated thumb before carrying on with game last weekend.

A football (soccer) player would have been out for months.

Argggg! I hate it when you order something online and even pay for expedited shipping and then get an email two days later that your item is on backorder!! Why couldn't they have told me that when I ordered it?!?!?

I ordered a Saints jersey for Ryleigh because she wanted my nephew to sign it when he gets here (the Saints are playing the Redskins here in DC this weekend) and now I can't find one in her size (or even close to it) anywhere!

I know! Ryleigh is going to be heartbroken. I spent all morning searching the web for another source and EVERYONE is out of it. I would call my nephew and ask him to pick one up but I don't want to be a bother.

The customer service rep at the store was very apologetic, though. Of course, I ranted to him for a good 5 minutes explaining how his store had broken an 8 year old's heart! I am so bad.

Oh, be a bother, what are older cousins for, other than to cater to the whims of the younger parts of their generation. Maybe he could get an actual game jersey and give it to her. She'd be in heaven over that, probably.

A couple of years back my kids had ordered their gifts for everyone from Amazon and other places on line for last-minute UPS delivery. Turns out we had a terrible blizzard and the UPS deliveries slipped by one day. Christmas was on a Monday and UPS does not deliver on Saturday (at that time at least) and Saturday was a perfectly clear, driveable day!

They had to wrap up Pictures of the presents and put them under the tree for Christmas.

My water heater is now fixed. It was a faulty diaphragm. This is a small circular disc of black rubber that costs an improbable £26.50, plus the plumber's time (total: £55).

Well, at least now you won't have baby water heaters running around, when you weren't expecting them.....

Glad you have hot water!

That reminds me of a Steve Martin joke... something like:

A girl was having trouble learning how to sing. She did have a singing coach. He kept wanting her to sing... From her DIAPHRAGM! Well that would take YEARS to learn, wouldn't it?

Grrrrrrr

Dell

I just wore out my second laptop keyboard, and Dell is being difficult about repairing it.At some point they decided that even though the warranty covers the technician coming on the next business day, they don't actually have to send the technician. They want _me_ to replace the keyboard. I paid how much just so I could do my own repairs?
