So, sorry. I don't know why they do this. Unfortunately, I can't help with it. Just keep nagging the Amazon Customer Service. Tell them that they are stopping the Word of God (even those version which are public domain) and therefore fighting God

I use the Douay Rhimes version.

I recommend this version which is an NIV version, it has a 90 day reading plan but of course can be used as just a normal Bible text.

I see that Douay Rhimes is older than KJV. Do you think there would be demand (other than from you) for a Kindle version of this translation with Direct Verse Jump? It takes quite a long time and lots of effort to make it, so I need to know if it would be worth it for people and me.

Actually it's Douay-Rheims . it is the english version of the Bible used by the Catholic church and unlike, say the KJV it contains the apocryphal books between the old and new testaments.

There may be a market for it but many Catholics are not very avid Bible readers - sorry for the generalization but it tends to be true.

Anyway I know anything you come up with will be great as all your other formats have been.

I liked this ESV study bible a lot....It has a lot of contents (comments, history, etc) yet it's price is pretty cheap!

What translations would you like to see in a parallel Bible? I could make it but I would need to have right/authorizations if they are not public domain.

Boy, besides the copyright problems this would impose formating would be a nightmare. The Kindle doesn't really support multiple columns of text the way a traditional parallel Bible is formatted.

Maybe the same verse on different lines? Some versions have differeing number of verses too and you'd have to figure out how and when to realign them.

Yep, Rootman is right.

All your choices are under the copyright (of different copyright holders). One would need more "muscle" to get permissions than what I have.

No column support (tables look ugly and unpredictable and I do not use them for that reason). The only way would be to have something like this:

NLT Gen 1:1
NIV Gen 1:1

NLT Gen 1:2
NIV Gen 1:2

etc.

BTW - that format would work for me osnova, assuming only 2 versions (NLT & NIV). Would it be possible to get copyright permission for this?

I've written to Zondervan (NIV). Let's see what happens, although I do not have high hopes. I am going to write to Tyndale (NLT).

Apparently, Tyndale accepts permission requests only by snail mail (Tyndale House Publishers, Inc., P.O. Box 80, Wheaton, Illinois 60189). Does anybody have an email address where I can send a request?

Note that NIV and NLT are available for the Kindle directly from Zondervan and Tyndale.

P.S. By the way I have had another idea for a parallel Bible on the Kindle. Basically, each translation is separate within one book. However, each verse is hyperlinked to its counterpart in another translation. What do you think?
