dreams, you've got everybody I know about.

I have 5 people on my buddy list (from MR) who started strong but didn't make the 50,000. Maybe next year? Or maybe this is not the way for them to write. Whatever happened, I am grateful to them -- and to the winners, and the sideline-cheerers too -- for the comaraderie and encouragement that, as Douglas Rhodes said, "really helped me stay on it."

I hope next year's Wrimos have as positive an experience.

OK, before someone calls me out...

"My NaNoWriMo Novel 2009" - FAILED

Maybe next year. I never got any farther than a full-fleshed outline before my NaNoWriMo aspirations were OBE. No excuses though, just FAILED.

But from these ashes NaNoWriMo 2010 will be the year I repeat my earilier successes.

Pking - no one would call you out. You tried. That's all that matters. But just because November is over, that doesn't mean you should quit now. Keep it going!!! My first book took like 6 years to write on and off.

I'd love to keep all 61k in there, but I don't think that's going to happen. Towards the end, I kind of inflated the word count by going all Robert Jordan on some scenes. And there were some contractions I didn't use just to get the extra word

In reality, I think that after I edit it'll slim down to around 52-53.
