I think the switch was somewhere in the begining of the year. My cybook is from october 2008, and is 200Mhz. What about the opus ? Would open inkPot run on it ? How do you install OpenInk Pot ? Any way to go back to normal firmware ? Guess there is no going to OpenInkPot until bookeen pubish the firmware so i can reinstall if need be. Last edited by EowynCarter; 12-01-2009 at 03:15 AM. |

My Cybook is from ~Feb 2008, I don't know the model number now, because I covered it with a sticker, but it's the old 64MB storage one.

seems that without digging into the units the questions re processors are a mute point, unless someone can glean anything from serial/batch numbers.

You really are heavily optimistic. I would not expect them to give ANY information that could help someone to mess around (read: hack) with their product.

I don't know what their thought on that would be. And i guess the worse that could happen is a negative answer. | |

What a shame, as if a bit of delay would change anything. That would be the end of the world for sure. You're going to while at the OI peaple for every delay too ? And it's not like you could not do anything while waiting for bookeen. Last edited by EowynCarter; 12-02-2009 at 04:53 AM. |

The discussion about the various models piqued my interest (me having the oldest incarnation of the Cybook) so I had a look at the Bookeen homepage to find out what specifications we have arrived at by now and was quite a bit surprised: In the specifications they list: Processor 200MHz ROM memory 8 MB RAM memory 16 MB Storage memory 64 MB Data Flash http://www.bookeen.com/shop/productd...?ProductID=417 I couldn't find any other version of the Cybook Gen3 sold at their site currently, so it seems they have either downgraded their hardware again or are currently selling off some old stock/remarketed models. The price tag is still at a whopping 350$ which must be some kind of weird joke as there are people who bought a better model a year ago for the same price. Anyone know what kind of mystery is behind that? |

Or just simply, they didn't update this webpage? I never see anything than this spec on their website, even when people get EB600 G3 or G3Gold |
