well as a dog and cat person, all I could come up with was a Portugese Water Dog, but you were talking about cats. then I thought that perhaps there was some severe species confusion going on, but thought that I didn't need to do an intervention... that's best handled by family, friends, local mental health workers, perhaps even pastoral care

Cool dogs... a bit too "hyper" for my taste though. I prefer laid back and easy going goggies.

Pretty typical that our oldest Bernese is generally known by the nickname "The Energizerbunny"

yeah, the critters and I lived with one for about 6 weeks in CA. it would get on the counters and steal food quite often. I would frequently come home to find out it had been in my bed rummaging around and just generally causing havoc

I agree, dessert's always a good idea. In fact, I think all courses should be dessert.

I always check the dessert menu in a restaurant first - depending on that I choose the rest of my meal

Life is to short to say NO to dessert.

Why on earth would you want a banana holder? Must be one of the stupidest inventions ever.

At the moment I am multitasking - I'm reading MR, watching the BBC news (only decent news we get here in Oz) and trying to make a list of things to do before I go on holidays on Friday. OMG it's Friday.

'Panic Now' is on top of the list. So much to do and yet still so many threads to read on MR. Ah well. Ok, relax, breath, still 2 1/2 days to go. Sleep not required. I can do it.

Packing not much of a problem - Reader, ticket, passport, creditcard. Wow, carry on luggage only this year.

Hmm the rest? Do I really need to clean the house for the housesitter? Probably not - he needs something to do while here

Shopping for catfood - check, ordered. Vet will deliver
Shopping for catfood - check, ordered. Vet will deliver (it's a big cat )

Panic NOW - check, running around backyard screaming

Christmas Cards - OMG Panic NOW. Oh wait, relax. I just send the paper, glue, paint and they can make their own. Can do that tomorrow

Anything else? Not sure. But just in case, I go and run around the backyard a bit more for some good ole relaxing screaming (lowers my panic levels)

The last time I cleaned the house for a house/cat sitter, they cleaned it themselves as well

Does the housesitter know it's a big cat? And more importantly, just how big is it???
