I never burnt anything in the crockpot as during the cooking process the condensation produces water.

I am more worried about the wiring in the house than starting a fire through burning. But then I also walk back to check that I REALLY switched off the iron. Paranoia set in when we moved in this timberhouse.

how big are your slow-cookers? ours certainly would not take all the ingredients in DGma's bean soup!
i did ours first in the oven on a low heat - and am now currently trying it on the hob in a saucepan.

with regard to things left on stairs .... we usually have at least one cat draped full length across the treads - very interesting when no lights are on !

My cooker is 5 litres - plenty big, but it's usually only the 2 of us. I make a mean Silverside in it.

I have a 6.5 litre and a 3.0 litre slow cooker. The big one's good for family feasts and the small for just The Loved One and myself (oval & big enough to hold a couple of lamb shanks). Oh, the big one is also good for holding a few ramekins too, which is good for desserts.

That can't be right - they hate change. they just want you to pack up (heaps of boxes and papers), move and unpack (boxes and paper again). In the end they will be shitty with you because you made them change their routines

Which is why i prefer goggies.... They just go along with whatever as long as you feed them

I love them too (you have some cuties there). But OH doesn't like them so we got a PWD. After growing up with dogs this is the first cat I ever owned. Don't think I will be ever be without one in future.
