Cool! We drove halfway up the mountain once. But with three little kids, I started worrying about air quality way up high. We got to see a little snow though.

What did the Wisconsinites do when the Minnesotans threw a bomb over the border? (right around LaCrosse, as a matter of fact)

Pick it up, lit it, and threw it back!

(Ok, itʻs supposed to be for MN and IA, but eh..)

if you get another chance go for it. the air's fine, just less of it. with the kids, the biggest "adverse effect" would be some hard core napping. it's only serious hikers and climbers that need to worry about nausea and headaches

Allow me to scoff also! Your 10 cm is about 5% of what we had last year! In the park near my house, there was about 1 meter of snow for months! AND it never closed (closing parks???? That's just cruel!).

Snow here is the worst 4 letter word, right down there with "work".

so i hear. about the parks, actually, unless i'm mistaken, it's a recent thing, they only started doing that after the really big windstorm of... 1999 ?? i think (i'm pretty sure, only because i remember my bathroom was flooding from the rain pouring through the gaping hole that was left after the wind tore the skylight off, while i was trying to get ready to go to a party for new year's eve, and i'm *pretty* sure it was the 2000 party. i remember that one because there was a theme) anyway my point is, we had a really violent storm which uprooted half the trees of the country and tore rooves off houses and i think somebody got coshed on the head by a tree branch in a park and died, and ever since then when the weather gets bad (well... "bad" is subjective, obviously) they close them. i could be remembering this wrong, but i'm pretty sure that's what happened.

oh, believe me, by february i am screaming too, and i can still see the ground around here. another québécois was telling me how he had FIVE HUNDRED CENTIMETERS of snow all winter !!!!! he posted a photo that supposedly was his brother's house. but you just had to take his word for that because the alleged house was litterally invisible, completely buried up to the roof in snow. for all i know, there was no house at all.

pfff. if that's the case, some of you could use a new bar. i hope you're taking notes.

as for myself, i am currently marvelling that the Page of The Beast is so calm and civilised. it doesn't seem like the end of the world at all in here. maybe i've misunderstood how that's supposed to work.
