Well thanks to this forum and this thread I just ordered the wife a refurbished DX for Christmas. I really wanted the larger screen size and the $90 off was too hard to resist. I've been looking and thinking about this for a while now and finally took the plunge.

Thanks for pointing out the refurbished deals!

I think you will be glad that you did. The Kindle 1 and 2's refurbished are OOS, so I expect the DX's soon will be, too. I was about to pull the trigger, too, but at the last minute my SO convinced me that I don't need another reader
