I have something similar to the Latitude for my Sony 505.

The good thing about it is that it is very strongly built, and secure with that zipper, so that it gives excellent protection in practically any situation.

But it is awkward to use the 505 while it is in the cover, and I found myself always taking the 505 out to read it, simply because it was so much more comfortable to hold.

You might want to consider the Tuff-Luv:
http://www.amazon.com/Tuff-Luv-Leath...8850921&sr=1-1

I think that this would give almost as good protection as the Latitude, and is easier to hold. I have one for my 505 and also for my 300. It also has carrying slots for extra SD cards, and a kind of flap that folds out so you can stand it on the table to read while you eat or type.

There's no place to store the charger or the light, though.

Noreve just came out with a cover for the Sony 600. It looks really nice. I keep wondering if I could use it for the Sony 505 if I put a piece of cardboard behind the Sony body. The difference seems to be the depth of the body of the Sony 505 which is 0.3 inch and the Sony 600 is 0.4 inch depth. If anyone tries it out, let me know.

Hi, I just ordered my first dedicated ebook reader, a pink Sony reader prs-300. I am really excited about my new toy. And now I'm worried about protection, since I'm used to carry my palm tx in my purse all the time (I have a crystal case to protect the screen and a sleeve to protect the case ). I have some money available in my amazon acount from gift card, so i need a good case from there.

I choose this topic because two of the cases I was considering where already refered, so if someone could help me here I really appreciate:
- The first one is the latitude jacket from m-edge - I think it look really cool and I love the fact that is zippered (no worries about pens, coins or keys scratching the screen), but now that someone said that it is uncomfortable to hold the reader inside the case I’m a little disappointed.

- The other I liked was the Tuff-Luv, it look nice and expensive ,(actually it is more expensive, and I would have to shell some of my money to buy it), I was just worried because is not closed (at least the corners are open, from what I can see from the pictures) and it looks heavy – could someone said if the reader fells bulky and heavy on it (I use to hold the palm with one hand, and I hope to be able to do the same with the new reader).

This is my first post, but I’ve been around for a coupled moth now, reading your reviews and useful advices, trying to figure out the right reader for me. Now that I finally did it, I would like to thank to everyone who generously give a little of his time to the forum, helping not only those who ask for help, posting, but everyone who can have the same questions.

As far as I'm aware off (I don't own one) the Tuff love covers are not real leather - or they didn't used to be - and it could have changed.

The m-edge leather cases,'executive' and 'platform' are very nice. I only have a sony5050, but the cover weighs about half of the reader's weight. They're very sturdy, the strap will keep it closed in your purse, and it will keep your reader safe. According to amazon the weight is the same as the latitude jacket.

As for the weight; find something flat and small that weigh about 4 ounces and then try to hold it together with your reader for a while, to see what it feels like - how much is too much is very individual.

You are one cautious lady!

I carry my Sonys in Tuff-Luvs in my briefcase front pocket, along with keys, clips, pens & all sorts of things, and have never had a problem with anything working its way under the cover.

But given how careful you are, I suggest you take a look at the BookArmour zipped case: http://www.amazon.com/BookArmor-Trav...945959&sr=1-15

This case has a handle, illustrated in one of the pictures, that you can slip your hand through and hold the case in a reading position. It is not, in my view, as nice as the T-L, but it will definitely give you maximum protection in your purse.

Harmon! You are right I'm a caution person, but your experience convinced me. It’s hard for me to buy something when I don’t have the opportunity to see it live (pictures can be deceiving sometimes), so I really appreciated you feedback.
I really loved the tuff-luv case, and I think the black one will give a smart touch to my reader.
I had considered the BookArmour case too, but they didn't made a fitted model for the prs-300, and the reader looks too big and lost in the middle.
Now I just can’t wait to my reader to arrive.
