I never disagreed with your statement about lenders being reluctant to lend. This is one of those unintended consequences of the TARP that is absolutely abhorrent. On this fact we are totally in agreement. However, your original post would lead someone to believe that the ONLY intent of TARP was to stimulate the economy and that is simply not true. The Feb 09 Stimulus package was passed SOLELY to stimulate the economy. I stand by my original response.

As for the "torture", we aren't dealing with a section of humanity that plays fair........after 9-11 not one terrorist attack occurred on US soil........until Fort Hood.

I weep for the 2800 hundred dead at 9/11. Just as well as I weep for the 3000 dead due to Pinochets taking power (by US support) - and the dozens of military coups instigated by the USA in fear of the "reds".

USA has been battered and hurt. Now is the time to prove that you really are a nation of free loving, respectfull of life individuals.

No inference to attacks outside the US was deliberately mentioned because the post didn't call for it..

Yes, that is part of the Fair Tax proposal and bill... repealing the 16th amendment.

It's just interesting that you condone torture of people that historically have prove not to hold up to the charges of being a terrorist.

Most of the people of Guantanomo has been released. Practically all of them has endured torture. But it is only in a few cases there has been any evidence of terrorism (that's why so many has been released (after unconstitutionel being held for years without a trial).

This is essentially what has happened.

The US Government paid a wanted fee for suspected terrorrists in afghanistan. And the afghans already had a needle for the light skinned (arabians etc.) in their country. So every light skinned was a bounty waiting to be collected.

Lol needed to save further lives: how many terrorist attacks have you prevented by torturing the people at guantanamo?

And even then: how christian is it to inflict pain on the other in order to preserve one ones self.

Oh wait I can answer that: It's quite contrary to the teachings of christianity.

Ok then let us ask: how constitutional is it to use people ase a means to a goal. Oh sorry: that is against the very autonomy that the founding fathers set out to preserve.

But it really seems like that we are all individuals... but some are more individuals than others... namely those you like.

Can we reverse it? Are USA not war criminals when CIA instigates a revolt against an democratically elected government in South America?

Should not americans be tortured, be brought to justice (something you fail to do to your enemies due to lack of evidence)?

There is a whole ladder in front of you, and you cannot even reach step one.

Wasn't the constitution meant to be an universal principle. Or was it just for the people in the land of honey?

Wasn't it meant to be "how it was supposed to be done". Respect for people and people rights, no more monarchies looming over the citizen.
