Never in a million years would I tolerate the system you have in the USA. I don't suppose there's any way of saying this without causing offense, but I think you people are out of your minds. Regards, Alex |

Oh... wait... we already have that. ![]() My health insurance covers my high blood pressure meds, they cover the anti-inflamatories and muscle relaxers I need for my back due to 3 bulging disks. Oh, they paid for the MRI to diagnose that too. If it gets worse they will pay for steriod injections or possible back surgery... I hope to god it doesn't come to that. My insurance company sends me letters saying I can't get certain meds that the doc had perscribed, so we had to find others. Luckily the three I am taking now are all on the Wallmart $4 plan... so I pay less for them than my script co-pay. They pay for my CPAP machine and reusables to treat my sleep apnea. They will also pay for heart surgery and bypass if it comes to that. But, all of these problems are due to my weight. But, they will not pay for any weight loose procedures or medical fast type programs of any kind. No, I am not lazy. No I don't not eat like a pig. I just gain weight very easily. I started an walking program which helped a little but my knee started to be in pain and it made my back worse... so I've stopped doing that. I hope to find something with less impact on my knees and back. So, does that make sense? Even though my doc says bariatric surgery is indicated and would resolve all those issues. Yes, god forbid the government pays and we have to put up with what they say is good for me rather than my Dr. BOb |

The next time the "government" comes to your rescue in the form of the fire department or the police department or the FAA or your Medicare policy or your Social Security, just to name a few, I'll assume that you will tell them that government is the problem & not the solution & refuse their services in your time of need. I also assume that, since you believe gov't is the problem & not the solution, you send back your monthly Social Security check (if you are of a qualifying age to receive that gov't provided help) and that you are not using Medicare coverage of any kind (again, assuming that you are of a qualifying age to receive that gov't provided help). Since you believe that gov't is the problem & not the solution, I'll assume then that you aren't so much concerned with constitutional guarentees of life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness or the freedoms that we Americans hold so dear? After all, who do you think guarentees and provides for the protections of those freedoms and liberties? Surely not the big, bad evil gov't! Since you believe that gov't is the problem & not the solution, I'll assume then that you wouldn't mind the complete dismantling of the US armed forces. After all, what entity is responsible for ensuring that there is a military force to protect our constitution & what it provides to all citizens and defend our liberties & freedoms? Surely not the big, bad evil gov't! Finally, I'm also assuming that since you believe gov't is the problem & not the solution that you do not exercise your constitutional right to vote for your elected gov't representation. After all, we have (or at least the original plan was to have) a gov't "of, by & for the people". So does that mean you ultimately believe that the people are the problem? If so, sounds like you would prefer to live somewhere else, perhaps in a country like China, which is a Communist dictatorship? Hmmm..... |

Considering Buckley graduated from Yale University & lived a life of upper class priviledge, I don't put much credence into his quote above. He was also a staunch defender of the South's segregationist policies (so what does that say about his judgement?) and lived to regret it and ultimately reverse his position on segregation. |

Don't misunderstand - I never believed that DGM intended to be insulting. I just took the assumption of gender as an insult.

Still, in any case I don't think you should feel that you were insulted. There are also names that are used for different genders in some countries. Personally I always think of "Kelly" and "Pat" as girls names. But, of course they are common boys names too. But, if I refer to a Kelly I don't know as she and it is a male, a simple correction is all I need. So, please give DG the benefit of the doubt with a simple... BTW: for future reference I am a she not an he. It is much more polite and less confrontational than the language you used. After all, we just want to keep everything polite as much as possible. Well the Huffington Post is certainly a fair and balanced news source. Plus an article that is based on the book Going Rouge: Sarah Palin--An American Nightmare certainly would not show any bias against SP. |
