Ooh ooh! Can the penguins RIDE the llamas?? How cool would *that* be? If the llamas are green and the columns are beige colored, then maybe the penguins should be purple!

Comfort reading, yes I'm going home on Friday, and I managed to escape going back next week but I'll still have to go the following week. For the last time, I hope.

What am I doing right now?

Sticking my toe cautiously back into the waters of MR; reading a lot a messages; selecting a lot of "Mark this forum read" options.

I've been a member of MR for one year as of today, but not that active recently. I think I'll stick close to the lounge where there always seems to be a sense of civility and differences in opinion don't lead to arguments or worse.

Hi everyone.
Happy Birthday everyone.
Happy Anniversary every everyone.
Get well soon, if your not, everyone.

I think that about covers it until I meander through the lounge.

If anyone has heard any rumours of a firmware update for the PRS-700, please let me know.

WDE.

Welcome back, WDE. We have more Harv and Vera, new Tales From Adrian's Bar, and a new Red serial staggering along. Plus the usual quips, quotes, and silliness we are known for....

If I had to guess, I'd say "We never thought anyone would still be using COBOL now, but there are still billions of lines of it in production, and no one is likely to pay to get those apps rewritten in something else, so we are stuck maintaining COBOL for the foreseeable future. Given that, we might as well try to upgrade the language to make it a little cooler and less painful to work on..."

I'm more bemused by the POSIX subsystems in z/OS. I can has Unix filesystem and use vi on my mainframe?
