The scroll wheel only does the Turn thing

if you have more than one page to view. This applies to your huge library that you loaded (more than 8 authors/titles, depending on your file layout) or within a book/document.

Solicitous pointed out that it should act like the Menu key if pressed inwards.
Have you updated the firmware(to at least the 10/11/09 version). That will affect some other modal features that the wheel does.

Maybe from BeBook, but Robert's message/post was dated 11/9 and it related to the Astak update. That's what I was inquiring about.

Apparently they backdated the current update then, because the one Robert referred to in the post that you quoted, and is the subject of this thread, is the one dated 5 November on the Astak site. BeBook had it long before it appeared on the Astak site, and I never was able to find the two BeBook bugs that were supposedly the cause of the Astak delay. As far as this thread goes though, the battery life improving update is already available.

Ah, you were referring to the release date, I missed that. So was that just put up on the Astak site last week?

Ahhhhh, my memory is not what it used to be, so I can only go by the file date on my computer.

I got the Astak update exactly one week ago today, which is when I first noticed it.. I got the BeBook Mini version of the update on 3 November. I am currently using the Lbook version that I got on 5 November, because I like it better than the other two. IMHO, Lbook has been more proactive in providing value added enhancements to the Jinke firmware updates. I just wish that the Lbook CoolReader had English menus as an option.

I'll start by suggesting that it be used something in the manner of the 5-way control on the kindle.

Use the up/down to select a hyperlink and press it in to follow the link.

Simple, useful.

Pressing in on the scroll wheel to get at an "extended" (Shift key/more) for the Menu button when the choices exceeds what currently fits (1-0) instead of just getting the normal menu another way.

Spin wheel (alphabet up/down, press to select) for entering search text (when in search mode) instead of/alternate to the Tap method.
