Got to 44,853 today. and finished the story. Now I gotta go back and put in a back story of the Mob Boss and the Monkey God (the little bastich!) And beef up the romance elements between Armistice and Constance.

Real life got in the way again. I'm at around 28k though, still ahead of the curve. Not by much though. Hopefully tomorrow I'll do some catch up. Looking to nail down at least 10k from around 2p - 10p. Even if I have to hole myself into a closet or something.

My character just had a massive transformation in the span of two paragraphs. I hope it translates well in the scheme of things. I may have to explain this a little more in a rewrite.

Back in the beginning he waxed poetic about killing a helpless deer.

And now he garrotes a blind old man. It was the easiest way I could think of to get him in the tower. I'm going to have to explain in a backstory or dialog how the Sun is like mystical and is believed to have magic healing powers (LOL)

Which would explain why he'd have to dress up as a blind old man to get in to go pray for sight.

Man, my world is twisted.

Chugged along again tonight. Only got 1400 done before I started to get sleepy. It's still early though. Maybe I can squeeze another 1400 out. Word count stands at 31,769. Not bad, but not great either.

I just posted the whole chapter in the Beyond the Black thread. It's a little bit spoilerish for those wondering where the story takes place. But if any of you guys want to check it out and give me some advice on how to make it flow better - please let me know =)

Wyld, you are amazing! It sounded like your first story was well thought out before you began writing, and the new one isn't. Could it be that simple??

Yeah, i made it. I had to add a whole chapter and four or five sections to get there. Now, I'm spell checking to get ready for re-writes. Chapter 2 is posted in the Armistice Walker and the Golden Orb thread.

That's certainly part of it, but I also let my husband talk me into writing a story he's interested in, and I found I just don't care about the plot. I think I'm going to scrap it and maybe start something new, or just write character sketches instead of another novel.
