What 20th Century Writers do you think will still be read 100 years from now?

I believe there was a French equivalent word starting with a J, but I don't want to embarrass myself mis-spelling it...

ah, thanks. in french there are several words for that (including bard), i can think of chantre, poète, and troubadour, but i can't think of any which start with a J... (it's possible i just don't know it though. i'm far from an expert on itinerant minstrels.)

you know, i didn't think so, but i just checked on wikipedia http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jongleur , and it turns out in the middle ages, yes, jongleurs did also sing or recite poetry like bards etc., along with juggling obviously (jongleur means juggler), and even showing animals. i always thought they were more like the court jester (they did have that role as well). learn something new every day !

I so loved the original Batman series and movie. The new ones are so flippin' dark. Yes, I know thats what the original comic books portrayed him as, but, as usual.......................I like Hollywoods first effort better.

I'm going to agree with you on this one, even though I did enjoy Dark Knight (for the Joker mainly), the Adam West ones were just a billion times more fun. I mean, come on, how serious can we really take someone who wears a bat costume ?

holy camp archetype, batman ! i ADORE the adam west series ! have you seen the film ??? how hard is it to get rid of a bleedin bomb ??? (although i think my personal favourite moment was the Bat Shark Repellant Spray ) (oh my god, i can't even type that without laughing.)
