If one of those circular connectors fits the charger socket on the Reader, and supplies 5V with the correct polarity (positive tip), then yes, it should work. You'd need to check that. Anything designed to charge the Playstation Portable (PSP) will work OK.

The multi-adapter cable does have a PSP tip on as one of the ends. I've used it to charge my reader with no issues at all.

If you don't like the multiend cable, any other USB Male to EIAJ-02 DC plug adapter cable will work. |

The charger for my Sony noise cancelling headphones has the same connector but is rated for 6.0v at 800 mA. I've heard that a 6v charger works, but have resisted trying it. Any idea if 0.8v is too much of a difference? I'd love to lose one more charger when I travel.

azlkk,
I'd be nervous about using a 6v source to charge a 5.2v device -- not as much the other way around. Over voltage is more dangerous than under voltage -- your headphones might not charge correctly, but they're not likely to burn out. Most voltage regulation and charging circuits stop working when the voltage is too low. They also burn out when they're pushed above their designed limit -- +0.8v might still be safe, but I wouldn't risk my 600 with it without some evidence the designer left enough margin to be safe. Try out charging your headphones on the 5.2v charger -- The higher amp rating won't matter -- but do watch it the first time. If the headphones can work with the lower voltage, you've just saved some packing space. Dan <>< |
