The village school has been closed down (too small), so the Farmer's children go to school in the nearby town.

On his first day, Jimmy looks through a book of animals with the classroom assistant. He cheerfully identifies the more exotic ones - elephant, tiger, giraffe, penguin, ...

And then there's a cow. Jimmy looks a bit puzzled. "Come on Jimmy" says the classroom assistant, "you live on a farm, you must know what this one is?"

Jimmy looks worried.

After a long pause he says...


"Freisan cross Holstein?"

That reminds me of an incident at work about 25 years ago . . . the president of the company I was working for at the time had made his bi-weekly trip from the home office in Houston to our office in North Texas. I STILL don't know where he got the idea I'd even HAVE $20 with the wage he was paying me.
