Pretty craptastic - even for an Alpha. For one thing I want to choose WHERE to install my software. I purposely segregate my data and user programs from the OS partition C:, this thing installed blindly.
<sigh> Anything to beat the Nook out the door I guess. |

Okay, thanks. I found it. It associates all your mobi files with the Kindle software, but it doesn't import them directly. You have to open them all individually to see them in there.

So, how does it handle the DRM - since the PID in anything I bought elsewhere won't match the Amazon app?

Not really. In iPhone (or kindle) you have to convert a serial number to Mobi PID. I don't hope they do different here.

You can also copy them to the Documents-->My Kindle Content folder and they'll show up when you open the program.

It doesn't as far as I know and I doubt it ever will. I meant it works fine with regular non-DRM Mobi/PRC from sources like Gutenberg and MR and stuff which is what the other poster had mentioned.

I just tried to liberate an eBook that has DRM using the PID for the iPod Touch registered to the account and it did not work. So I'm hoping that someone will figure out how to get the PID.

Did you try the MobiPocket PID for the same PC? Given Amazon's track record, I would not be surprised if it is the same, or perhaps with just the 8-th character replaced (which changes the 9th and 10th character checksum as well).
