I dragged myself out of that hole this arvo to write to a total of 15232, putting me just above the line again. It's gone a little meta- in there, but it's my novel and I'll cry if I want to. I'm the kind that tends to hear people start talking about artistic guidelines as rules and so determines to beat that rule to death with a well-swung cricket bat. Thus, instead of editing out my developing Mary Sue, I added in a real Mary Sue and then, just for giggles, had a grinning gibbon crown the smug bastard with a cricket bat. Oddly, the Mary Sue wasn't surprised. I then had another character effectively ban him has an abomination. 'Course, the Mary Sue then took an intermission and started reminiscing some crap about old dreams he used to have, but that other character told me that Mary Sue knows nothing about anything, and so I figure not to listen to his crap any more - every time he writes I'm going to stick my fingers in my ears and go "Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala....". Wait, what? |

There's a process? I'm a writer? You hit the shum with the handle of a what now? Yeah, but do you think I'm going to take the advice of you crazy people? Nosirree, bob! For I am Legion and we've got many certifications of sanity from our pshrynk, so we don't need no second opinions. Cheers, Marc (I don't know why I used that " " emoticon. Maybe Santa Claus told me to do it) |

Everyone knows that Windows is purely logical and scientific in nature. No, he has Mac OS. The depression comes from being so damned intuitive...

My main two struggles are that I have a major supporting character that I have to make as endearing as possible before I kill him and (two) my MC keeps trying to convince me to let him be a bad guy.

I'm pathetically and hopelessly behind on mine. My six-month old decided that November would be a nice month to start waking up every two hours at night.
