Enjoying the aroma of a cottage pie in the oven. I used to call it shepards pie, but then was told that was made with lamb. Ick.

hamburger, cooked with onion and crushed tomatoes til all liquid is absorbed, later of corn, then layer of mashed potatoes and topped with shredded cheese.

Popped into a hot over for just a few minutes.......served with a salad and warm rolls w/butter.........dinner!

Been on a cooking jag lately. Or maybe more truthfully......and eating jag.

see, now how can anyone believe that's real ? it has "caricature" written all over it. in giant, red, "snacker of nations"-style letters.

If my daughter Shannon were to read your post, she would be hoping a jet and heading out your way to help you eat it!! She loves Shepard's pie (well, Cottage, I guess). There is an Irish restaurant/pub here that serves Shepard's pie and Shannon gets cravings for it every now and then. I've yold her she needs to learn to cook it herself, but she says that's what restaurants are for. She better find a better paying job or she's going to starve when she finally moves out. I've tried to get her to learn to cook but she likes to be "creative" in the kitchen and following a recipe is just too boring. God help whoever she invites to dinner one day.

I've been cooking a lot lately, too. Not because I want to but because the hubby has been complaining that we're eating out too much. Some people are never happy!

We've both grown tired of eat out..........and i never learned to cook much more than hamburger helper for years. Now I love to find simple recipes to try.....and feel like I've really accomplished something when they work! Not all do....I can usually tell by my husbands face really quick.

I like to try new things but I want them to be fairly quick and easy. With Ryleigh's activities and homework, the evenings go by pretty quickly so I need dinner to be relatively simple. I found this great magazine (which used to be free but they just sent me a subscription bill ) from Kraft foods called Food & Family which has great quick and easy recipes. I would love to say that I am a gourmet cook who loves to chop and slice and get creative, but I wouldn't want to lie!

BOb, it's like touch-typing. I want to spend my time using the tool, not relearning a new variant every few years, and paying hundreds of dollars for the privilege (sic).

Um... you confuse me. Linux is free. and... so is pretty much any software for it... at least your basic productivity software.

If what you had was working so great, why are you trying to upgrade. Once again, I am really confused.

Linux isn't that hard to learn, either. I ran it for my main o/s for a year, before going back to Windows. If it's so great, why did you go back? I can hear you thinking... well, two of the software programs I use the most don't have counterparts in Linux that are close enough for me to be comfortable with them, and I never GOT comfortable with the Linux versions and without the Windows versions of those programs.

Wow, that's a ringing non-endorsement...

What Windows programs were they may I ask? And when was this?
