ooooh, gratin dauphinois !!! well if i had any doubt left in my mind i think that's clinched it. i sense a mandoline in my (very near) future. quickly, while it's still cold enough to want gratin dauphinois. i'm still somewhat hoping to find one for a bit less dosh though. i would ask my friend where she got hers, but i get the feeling she's had it since before i was born, so it might not be a very useful tip.

And you still have all your fingertips? But I agree they are excellent for gratin dauphinois.

Hint: get one with a good guard/holder. mandoline's are *lethal*!

Yeah, but if I ordered it in French I might receive a plate of squid, by accident! Between pronunciations, and not knowing what a french item was in the first place -- I'd be in a tight spot! (have tried squid; no thanks!)

I have decided to waste my time trying to play some poker after spending allmost half a year away from the game (I have always been a small scale winner). I thought I had pulled everything out but as it turned out I had 2 dollars left on my account. Just for the heck of it (and because I'm quite good at turning nothing into something) I try to see how far the two dollar will carry me. I'm at 21 dollars right now.

I have promised my wife to stop at 250. :P

It's probably much more likely that I crash and burn.

Nooooo, it was quite dead -- and cut up. But the rings felt like I was chewing on rubber bands. Tasted about as good, and never actually got any softer than a rubber band either. Yuck-tooey!
