Just back from a 6 pm meeting with my new client. The project sounds rather standard: under-staffed, under-funded, and with too short a schedule.

The good news is that I'm jumping in right at the fun part, the system just went live and I'm supposed to help users who suddenly have no idea how to do things they didn't even have to think about before. It's a very rewarding time, maybe my favorite, because people are usually very grateful when you help them out

The bad news is that we go by car tomorrow morning, because there is a train strike (in Belgium and not France for a change). I may even have to drive

We are going to 's-Hertogenbosch, in the Netherlands. I am not kidding, this is really the name of the city. Who would have thought that a name can start with an apostrophe - or is it a quote?

I need to start packing...

I'm about to go sit out on the patio of some nice cafe with my wife and daughter, sit back, relax, sip some iced tea, and soak up this glorious weather for a couple of hours.

I think it started with me startling him by bursting into hysterical laughter with no apparent provocation while reading MR. Then I made him read Steve Jordan's DOS stories, and then the thread about John Grisham did the trick. Sneaky, ain't I? (pssst..check the "Hey" thread in Introductions, and all will become visible. Or at least not invisible...)
