That is precisely what I did indeed! Does not work (smoothly) for all PDF's (and I am still fidling with the right target format to preserve equations - ePub seems to have some trouble with this) but usually it converts them from unreadable two-columns to single column texts including images quite well.

I have several Canon digital cameras and other devices that have PDF manuals that were designed to be printed in small booklets, say 3 x 5 inches. These PDFs work and look very good on the 300. But large PDFs are very problematical.

If you create your own documents, RTF works very well. I wonder if MS Word's equations would work on the Readers if saved in DOC format? I might have to give that a try.

Thanks for the answers; I tried with other formats but the strange things is that some images and graphics (not all of them) disappear and I can only see the written parts (es Fig. X.X: ...) o the axis' titles... I'm really confused... any ideas?

Question WHY?

I now have a number of PDF documents on my Reader.

The funny thing is that some of them reflow perfectly - while others do not. They reflow right in the middle of a word.

These are not DRM protected, so I can copy and paste them into Word documents then import them into the reader. BUT, I don't understand why some work and some don't.

Just the curious in me. I suspect this has been discussed elsewhere, but I wasn't able to find it - so a link to the discussion would be helpful.

Thanks!

It's down to tags. PDFs can carry invisible xml tags that define the structure of the document (headings, paragraphs, tables etc.). If those tags have been properly inserted at creation then it will reflow correctly. If not, then the reader has no information beyond the raw positional data.

I just got a new PRS-600 as a gift 2 days ago. I tried a PDF (software documentation). When I changed the zoom to M on the first PDF and advanced pages, it did not have this problem, every new page came up in M zoom. It didn't reflow tables, but I expect that would be the same as images. Perhaps new firmware update will fix it for you ? Mine says version 1.0.00.06260.
