So long as we're confessing our sins, I'm reading a paper book right now. Also, the last book I bought was the 8 volume set of Gibbons' Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.

P.S. Every so often I like to take a paper book and rub it all over my body.

I approve of this.

My problem is a dreadful weakness in charity book shops and an overwhelming sense of wrongness in destroying a book just to scan it.

I listen to my vinyl so much more than I read our paper books. My Stephen King books, with a couple of very special exceptions, are in boxes in the closet. We're too limited in shelf space to put them up, and I have all the ones I read in e-form . . .
The only paper I read anymore is magazines on the airplane, during takeoff and landing.

I'm going through a paperback by Terry Pratchett right now. My paperbacks from him/Harper are among the poorest quality ones I have, but they are still much nicer than ebooks in general.

I would probably read them as ebooks anyway, but it would be a big pain in the butt to convert them to PDF with the footnotes correctly placed and everything.

I still will enter a bookstore (used or new) without qualms and buy any book I'd love to have. The only thing stopping me now is the fact that we first need to finish the lounge so I can actually store those books... But once we have finished it, I have a few books on my list that I most certainly will buy in paper form. Without shame!

I've just donated 173 paperbacks to the local village library. These are the only English language books that they have. I hope another gaijin moves into the neighborhood and can make use of them.

I also hope this satisfies as atonement for my reading one this morning...

Yeah? Well, I just got an old, used, tatty-looking 3 1/2' bookcase and stuck it in a corner of my bedroom so I can have more room for paper books.........In my bedroom, do you hear?

Great books. I have a beautiful "Folio Society" set, bound in cream leather, that I picked up at a 2nd hand bookshop at a ridiculously low price some years ago.
