Thank you for the link and the recipes. I think I like your idea of cocoa krispies and crushed peppermint the best. I will definitely give it a try and won't even wait for the holidays!

Well, I was going to buy one or more Sony 505's at some spectacularly low CLEARANCE! price today. But since that fell through, I'm passing on Christmas this year and will instead wait for the Easter bunny to deliver some chocolate eggs for everybody.

Cripes, I'm old! I remember when the adults complained about stores advertising Christmas goods when it wasn't even Thanksgiving* yet. Now the holiday competes with Halloween for shelf-space!

actually, watching the wal-mart waltz here it seems that they in particular put all of the summer/lawn and garden stuff on sale and as it shrinks they add the halloween stuff which turns into the turkeyday stuff which gradually becomes xmas thus taking over all of what used to be summer/lawn and garden, and as soon as that is gone it is replaced by the early bulbs, potting soil... and so on....

You are lucky. Mine skipped right over Turkey day and went into Christmas. Maybe we aren't celebrating this year......

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........turkey breast. Honey Baked Ham. Mashed potatoes and gravy. (REAL mashed potatoes) Warm rolls. Stuffing. Cranberry Sauce. Apple, pumpkin and berry pie with whipped cream or ice cream for dessert.

Repeat next day...and the day after that, and the day after that..........

Christmas presents? I've managed to knit a scarf, and most of a jumper (just finishing the second shoulder, then I've got a v-neck and sleeves to go). And a washcloth, which I'll team with a bar of 'gourmet' soap (smells so good you won't mind having your mouth washed out). I just have a jumper, a few more washcloths, and maybe a couple of scarves to go. I think it's do-able!!
