This isn't a bad idea. I should take this opportunity to read some books that I have on my Reader or on my bookshelf. I'll go for these three:
-Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Got it a while ago for my Reader but haven't read much past the first few pages.

Make time for The Stand. One of Stephen King's best. For that matter, make some more time and read It, also by King. Another of his best.

Are Thomas Tryon's book available electronically? Harvest Home would be appropriate to the season, but I prefer The Other.

Not specifically about halloween, but for fans of Lovecraft or Robert E. Howard-style horror should check out http://www.eldritchdark.com/ for the works of Clark Ashton Smith.

I'm going to be settling down with Dickens' "Christmas Stories" (available on MR) and selecting the ones not relating to Christmas, like "The Haunted House". I'll read these when I return from celebrating Samhain with a few other wiccans. You nicked the day from us.

I have to agree with you both. The creep factor in Bram Stoker's book is off the wall!
