I haven't seen anything official that says this.

It would be wonderful if they did shift to epub (drm'd) or not as far as I'm concerned. That would push Amazon that direction as well.

interesting...I may have to take a look at this. I love my Kindle but I've been wanting something that would accept ePub and I refuse to buy another Sony reader since they sold me that crappy 700 and then refused to take it back...

Me too, except that rather clunky looking book light cover. I wonder what happened to the book light in the original Gizmodo pictures that clipped on the back of the reader. I thought that looked pretty clever.

It was up... then the main URL (overview page) was redirecting to the ebooks front page... but all the sublinked pages still worked.

But, now you can get there from the main URL again.

I bought one too, I have not bought a reader since the 300 and this should hold me over till the Que arrives. Make sure you buy some good books that you can lend me, I will do the same for you.

Oh really? More than Baen? Between RB/IMP, EPub, LIT, and Mobi, I think they've got all ebook-dedicated devices covered, and most other mobile readers. (I don't think they offer, um, Wolf?) With plain HTML and RTF, they have the rest covered at least as secondary options.

Fictionwise's multiformat & Smashwords also cover almost everything. Non-DRM ebook retailers support a lot more devices than any DRM store is going to manage.

Or does he mean, "We have contracts to promote more devices than any other e-book retailer?"

If B&N switches to ePub instead of eReader, unless they drop support for BB, (which would be stupid), then they'd practically have to come up with an app for it, or an update for the existing app. that would support ePub.

I suspect that they will add ePUB to the current app.
