omg I'm giggling like a little school girl right now. My friend gave me a b&n giftcard a while ago because he didn't think there was any money on it anymore. I accidentally remembered it and checked to find out it had 60 dollars in it! ahahahahah.

That's crazy. Glad I got my preorder in about 45 minutes ago. Wonder if it will be canceled?

I got a preorder in, too... and got confirmation a few minutes ago.

Says it will ship on November 30th, though.

Their press conference is in 40 minutes from now. I am sure they will put the page back up at that time.

I bought the PRS-505 recently, but if the B&N Nook supports better PDF reading, I'm all over it.

I'm not sure how or why I would be better. Everyone though the FoxIt eSlick would be the best considering who made it.

From what I've seen the PRS-600 looks like the best 6inch device for PDFs.

Anyway, we are still a month away from any reviews apparently.

Good (albeit bias) side-by-side comparison:

edit: Looks like I'm a bit late to the post...

Yeah, I just bought a 505 as well for my Dad. After seeing this, I wonder if I should return it. I can't imagine the PDF reading would be any better. I don't expect them to have made any amazing advances in reflow, and the screen size looks to be about the same as the 505, if not a 5". The only advantage I expect is processor speed, which might be able to format it faster to the screen...

I didn't know that the Nook OS is based on Google's Android platform.

BTW my shipping notice also says Nov 30, but B&N has already charged my account. Not cool.

Me, too... which I'm confident means that they will be shipping much sooner than November 30th. Their confirmation email even mentioned that I was now "scheduled to ship" and only allowed to make "limited changes" to the order. That is not a status that would make any sense for delivery over a month from now.

We'll know soon enough!
