Even in reading, I want speed. I'm not just a novel reader. I'm not just a web cruiser either. Newspapers, magazines, research articles and journals...all those things demand dynamic navigation. I'm happy that you don't care about any of that stuff. You don't need to. Let other people buy the devices that will fix the problems that they want fixed, and you can continue using what you've got.

No need to get nasty. I'm just stating my position. Each person has their own. YMMV as they say.

I see it sort of like this...imagine a bookstore offers only romance novels in ebook form, and the other genres are paper book only. They suddenly announce that they're going to offer science fiction ebooks as well as the romance novels. Folks who want science fiction ebooks get something they want. Folks who want nonfiction or fantasy or whatever ebooks can complain that they're not getting what they want yet and that they have to continue waiting. But I get confused when the romance ebook buyers complain because...they like romance ebooks that they already have and don't care about the new science fiction ebooks.

I wonder if we'll see the new iRex hitting the store shelves this week along side the Barnes and Noble device. In their press event they mentioned October and i can't help but think B&N would not want that device on store shelves before the Nook in order to not cannibalize sales. If Thursday is true for the Nook then maybe we'll see the iRex then as well?

Plastic Logic announced the name of their upcoming device for Barnes & Noble -- it's called the QUE proReader. They still don't have a device to sell yet, but apparently they want us to know that come Q1 of 2010 they are going to display what they are working on at another electronics show. Sheesh, I am so disappointed in Plastic Logic and their vaporware.
