Just sitting here and being nervous - I'm having a small show in the hallway of my building this week-end because it's open studio week-end and I don't really have a studio. It's starting at 2. Do drop by if you're in the area

mine usually fall out in the course of the night. but i've worn them so much in the past few years that i tolerate them a little better. the worst is before i fall asleep, if the blanket is too high the edge can touch the earplug and it moves as i'm breathing, making a horrible sawing noise ! arg !

The only way to meet new people is to spend time with people you don't know. I wish I did more of that in earlier parts of my life. I'm always jealous of people that are so comfortable with people they don't know and will talk to any one. I guess that's what they call out going.

I agree, I want to do more of it. Matter of fact I have been getting into Euro boardgames lately and keep thinking I should go to the Tuesday night gatherings at a local game store.

Yes, I think there is a cadre of Florida members here.

I'm alive (and surpisingly able to stand - just) in Kiwiland about to head on to Melbourne. On my flight over, I've been reading The Elegance of the Hedgehog - and loving it! I left my liseuseuseususe home (don't ask me why) and saw the title in the airport bookstore. How could I pass it up?! I'm glad I didn't. I hope to figure out soon what day/time/dimension this is. Cheers! (or whatever)

It really hard to explain. But, basically they are board games that are a bit different than your basic monopoly or scrabble. The idea being they games are very balanced and stay close so any one can win right to the end.

Some examples of them would be Settlers of Catan, Agricola, Shear Panic, Puerto Rico, Ticket to Ride. They are a lot of fun. Some are more simple and some get very intense and long. I prefer the ones that can be played in about an hour.

Check out boardgamegeek.com which is the place for these types of games. Check out boardgameswithscott.com for some videos about them and how to play. Watch the videos on the games I mentioned above to get an idea about them and how to play.

I think they are called Euro games cause many of the original favorites came out of Germany, although there are many games from US designers these days too.

Just put some steaks in a marinade recipe I found online. Never did this before... but the steaks we grilled before (same steaks) were a bit tough. Hope this tenders them up.

Will accept any steak grilling tips.
