Cover for PRS-600
I'm getting a PRS-600. I know the previous PRS-505 cases can hold the 600s minding that they aren't configured to fit exactly the layout of the buttons. Amazon is selling the non-specilized leather versions for a discount since the 505 is discontinued. I wouldl like to know what case you have and where I can get one from. I'm particularly interested in the one with the light wedge device. I don't have a Staples, so no clearance for me. Bummer. Thanks for the help.

M-Edge ones are often sold as non-specialised. I have two of them, one that I use with my 505 but became the "fitting" for the 600, and the new one that goes with the 600. I can say they're different, even being of the same line and the same builder, the first being a perfect fit but in green- my 600 is red- while the second, in mocha, could have the button issue you mention.
One solution is to cut a bit of the strap (it's feasible and not too defacing). I just found another solution: I used a bit of the plastic foam the cover comes with, cutting just a 2 cm x 0,5 cm rectangle, and inserted it between the strap and the button, and it works- it cushions the pressure. I hope it will change with time; anyway the plastic foam is not too visible (dark grey on mocha, and there's a light grey microfibre lining inside the cover). As for the light, I have a clip-on light (which works better on a Reader/liseuse than on a book, it won't go in the way for the page-turning ![]() |

I bought one of these, which cost of £12, I think, with my PRS 600 from W.H Smiths as a start. I thought that I would experiment with it and decide what cover I really want/need. As I use it at home almost all the time, so far the 505 cover is fine.

Yes, the 700 case is on sale for $15 now. Even with $20 shipping to Europe, it is cheaper than anything else out there, and they are nice covers (or so I hear).
Sony says the 600 is the following size: Dimensions (Approx.) : 6.9 x 4.8 x .4 inches (LxWxD) (sorry, no metric) And the 700 is: Dimensions (Approx.) : Approx. 5 1/9 x 6 7/9 x 13/32 inches (127.6 x 174.3 x 9.7 mm) (weird how they reversed height and width and decimal and fractions) The 700 is 12.8 cm x 17.4 cm. The 600 is 12.2 cm x 17.5 cm (odd the 600 is taller). So it looks like they could fit in the same case. More than half a cm in width might be an issue. donistron, does it stay in Ok? Did you have to modify it any? Last edited by llreader; 10-16-2009 at 10:14 AM. Reason: Added dimensions |

Gracias, Don Triston!
I went ahead and ordered one already, but the pictures are great. The black cover is lovely - too bad they are sold out. I got the brown and tan one. |

I did a video review of the M-Edge 505 Cover for my Sony 600 on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/review/R1WSGRL...cm_cr_rdp_perm When I bought it, it was down to $14.95 - up higher now ... |

Nicely done! Yes, the 700 cover is on sale now, so I got that. I guess they are cleaning out their stock.
