I'd like something like social media incorporation... This is especially the case when I'm reading a newspaper on my Kindle and would like to share the article on Twitter or Facebook.

I have a lot of books on my Reader. I usually have three or four that I am reading, switching back and forth between them depending on my mood. It would be nice if the Reader could note which books are "open" on a page other than 1 and group them all together so that I could pick them out of that shorter list, without having to do a bunch of extra work. It would also help me to see what books I've started and forgotten to go back to!

Ectaco jetBook: functioning hyperlinks and tables of contents; more than two fonts. These are the biggest minuses to the jetBook, IMO.
PDA/smartphone: nothing. I got the jetBook for use in bright light. The larger screen is a minor plus. Otherwise, a PDA or smartphone is the best ebook reader around, because it's a general purpose device, with no vendor specific quirks. WRT bookmarks and annotations, I never use those, so for me there's no added value. Regards, Jack Tingle |

The only thing I'd be interested in would be an RSS client, so you can fetch news. This would ideally require the reader to support WiFi to get the content - my scenario is you update your reader in the morning, and you can read the news while on your commute to work.

I'd like to be able to load different reader software (like you can on a computer or PDA) so formats and DRM schemes aren't as much of a pain.

All I want from an ebook reader, that isn't really there with my Kindle, is:
• Good book title organization • Better annotation methods • Better graphics / PDF support • More font support • A few more formats (not a big deal) • Library and, if the legal issues get sorted out, access to Google Books At the risk of being excessively blunt, most of the other things are superfluous garbage that will only distract and detract from the focused function of an ebook reader. If you want a PDA, get a PDA.... |

For work I'd rather have one tablet I can read and annotate academic books/articles on, keep my calender and contacts, check e-mail etc. vs. having to have a reader and a PDA etc. Others just want a simple reader, and that's fine. I love my Kindle and would probably keep it around for leisure reading even if I get a tablet device that fits my work needs. |

I would like to be able to do annotations and searches from my computer in the book on the reader. This could be implemented by synchronizing the reading of the book on the reader with the display of the book in a program on you computer.

The ability to make tracklists would be somewhat welcome as well, not to mention catagories for audiobooks (so you can dump all books of one series together), but really, a simple calendar is all I ask for ![]() |

I'd want synchronization. I use the Palm desktop software on my office PC and home laptop more than I do the Palm Pilot which only gets used in meetings or to synch up across my PC and Laptop.

Nothing.. I wish they'd just focus on higher resolution and maximum contrast instead of adding features that I already have in other devices.

It is probably a needless elaboration (in that it was likely intended by Dale - sorry, if so, Dale), but I'd say "Dictionaries support" (plural). But, of course, I already have this on the Iliad with mobipocket - I just hope for it with ePub. I wouldn't mind an online lookup feature either (eg. Wikipedia, Answers, et cetera)
Also, annotations (I can do that on pdf's on the Iliad, but I can't do dictionary lookups on a pdf...wait, I don't think I can? Can I? I'll have to go look). Also, I wouldn't mind if these annotations could be links...to other books, to online sources, to files (assuming a multi-function device, which I'm not at all averse to). Cheers, Marc |
