Just started Book 2 in the Southern Vampire series. I enjoyed Book 1 a lot and have watched some of the tv show. I did not become a die-hard fan necessarily (of the show) but it was fun to watch a couple episodes, and I will definitely be picturing Anna Paquin in my head as I read Seeing her on-screen made the book character seem a little younger and more sympathetic. The Bill in my head is better than the Bill on TV though

I read it last week, so I am looking forward to discussion. I took some notes, and I hope I can remember enough. I wasn't all that impressed - 3 out of 5, and the last point only for idea&effort.

Will do. It's at the very top of what to read next.

I also finished FlashForward last weekend. Thought it was decent but not great, I thought the first half was great but the latter part of the book I couldn't really get into. Great idea though.

Also read I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell by Tucker Max, a collection of so-called "true" stories from this guys life. Some of them were kinda funny but not really believable in my opinion. I had previously come across some of these stories on the net. I see they are making it into a movie, looks very loosely based on the book.

Now I am about halfway through The Time Traveler's Wife, not bad so far. Not really sure where it is headed which is good.

Just went another time at Baen free library, and discovered another one that I'm currently reading : "Telzey Amberdon" by James H. Schmitz. Great book for the moment, if it continues that way all along I'm definitively hooked !

Finished up FlashForward last night. Good read - Great start and great idea but a bit clumsy in the execution in places.

It's either The Road or Verdant Skies next...

I'm about half way through *The Road* Kenny (late on the uptake with this one). It really is a superior piece of writing, darned near poetic. One of those tales that really draws you in. The characters aren't identified by name, so you can't help but identify them as facets of yourself. Tremendously powerful. Highly recommended. Cheers. Neil

Just finished Diana Gabaldons The Fiery Cross and started A Breath of Snow and Ashes, hopefully that means soon I will be able to start An Echo in the Bone, which is the new one.

although i had read the first 4 a couple of times, the Fiery cross and A Breath of Snow and Ashes i have only read once each, Usually they carry on from each other, so i want to make sure i haven't forgotten anything vital in the four years since the last one came out.

Now reading..

I discovered the thriller novels of G. M. Ford and am enjoying them. Have read Fury and Black River and am now almost finished with Red Tide. Always nice to discover a new author (new for me anyway).

Thanks to someone mentioning Flashforward, I discovered I have that ebook and probably will read that next. I'm enjoying the TV show.

My library just got "Dead Until Dark" I've been waiting for ages......

Started it right away, its every bit as good as I'd hoped.

Am looking forward to reading the whole series...I like the "lightness" of the book.........
