My husband had that kind of titanium screw implanted in his jaw too. Only, first they had to spackle in some faux bone, cause the jaw bone was so weak he'd have lost his whole face if he'd gotten a punch. Apparently, when you have false teeth, the bones deteriorate due to lack of pressure and usage. He has had full mouth false teeth since he was 16. So the jawbones were nearly gone; they added some stuff to make more bone.

Then he had screws implanted all over (7 total, I think). Between the bone rebuilding, and then the screw implanting ... I think he was without his false teeth for nearly a year, till they could implant the replacement now-attached-to-the-bone teeth.

So I can sympathize with your pain, Kaz! I didn't feel it, but I nursed it.

That reminds me of a school assignment way back when. We had to do it in Java (which was very new at that point) and everybody was praising java because you could run it on every machine! So, we finished our application and wanted to show it to the teacher. But it didn't run on his pc... I think my aversion for Java (in any form) stems from that period

Very mild vent and rant - but argghh - just discovered that a pair of DMs I've been meaning to get for ages are in the sale on the DM website. Add them to the basket, have a quick browse on the other sale stuff - and in that 15 minutes they no longer exist on the site!

Good grief, Am, with all the ranting about DRMs around here, I'm shocked that you would go to their website and actually order some. What, do you occasionally go to their store and ask "Please, sir/madame, how much are your DRMs? I'd like to buy a couple for hubbie and maybe one or two for myself? And are they, like, good DRMs or are they the kind that are easily broken? I don't want any namby pamby DRMs in my house. Oh, wait! I think I have a coupon in my purse!"

Okay, I give up. If not DRM, then what? Decimeter? Dextromethorphan? Doctor of Management? Dichroic mirror? Dennis Miller? Dungeon Master? Designated marksman? Dance Marathon? Deutsche Mark? Definitely Maybe? Death metal? Depeche Mode? Defensive Midfielder? (doggie searches wikipedia and finds nothing else interesting except dog muffler which it certainly can't be)

Definitely not a dog muffler - unless a doggie got their nose stuck in one...
