The obvious answer to the DRM dilemma is to remove DRM the very moment you purchase your books. You can then read them with either firmware. There is simply no reason not to remove DRM anyway, it makes the book much more versatile. So, how much longer do we have to wait until we have folder view on our Gen III's? This is just getting ridiculous! Enough already, publish it!!! |

By the way, I'm a lazy one, and if I don't have to de-DRM all my books, and convert them, I'll be happy !

There is sourcecode online. I have been browsing through it, but I'm not so into Linux and C so I cannot make anything usefull from it. Let's just hope for monday (don't ever give out upgrades just before the weekend, that's asking for trouble ).... Maybe monday will be "soonday". |

Maybe they said they would publish the firmware "one day" and someone thought they said "Monday". Perhaps a misunderstanding due to accent. Or maybe they said they would publish it "some day" and someone heard "Monday", again a misunderstanding. |

I haven't seen how posted. If they took it away, they probably opened it and connected a JTAG connector to the circuit board. That bypasses the operating system and writes the flash ROM directly. If they did it in front of you with an SD card, then I stand corrected -- that explanatation from my two items would then be very unlikely. Richard |

I could write an elaborate parody of a nobel prize given to Bookeen for the continuing effort to gathering the Cybook community under one single roof (MR), speaking with a single voice (this thread), as a hope for a unfified eBook reading world under one device - er, two firmwares, that is ... whatever. But then, life would just imitate art again, and nothing surpasses Bokeen's real-life satire anyway. |

(fake) News: Bookeen Software development switched over to Mars Timezone Quote of a bookeen spokesman: "A small step for mankind but a big step for deadlines." First we didn't understand the meaning of this statement, but then it finally sunk in! Nobody gets paid on Mars, nobody works on Mars. No Churches on Mars, no birthdays on Mars, no houses on Mars. So... guess what... no calendar on Mars. Meaning ... no weeks on Mars ... And most importantly NO Mondays at all on Mars! See you on next Mars-Un-Monday . (some text parts found in the web searching for "monday on mars") |

"We will deliver in 6 months" (omitting the MTZ, Mars Time Zone) means 6 months * 1.9 = 11 months and 12 days I wonder what's the value of "We will deliver soon" soon * 1.9 = ?
