I have an Ezreader Basic been using it since early March. I love it and have found that I know dislike paper back books but hard back novels are OK but still like the Ezreader better.

This is a pretty interesting question, and once I thought about it, pretty relevant.
I remember a while ago, when I'd been completely E for a few months, I opened up one of my storage boxes and saw a couple of my favorite books and decided to take them out for a reread. Starting the read itself felt a bit awkward, as I had gotten out of the habit of holding and changing paperback pages with one hand, and found that the effort of holding the book open was in itself a bit distracting ![]() Once over that hurdle, when it came time to put the book down, I must have spend a few seconds on trying to remember how to bookmark it, before finding a scrap piece of paper to do so (Don't like dogeared books) Having those books out made me realize how much space paper books take up, especially if I want to carry them around. In my reader I usually have a couple of hundred, with about a dozen ongoing at any given time, depending upon my mood. Its finally gotten me to the point of triageing my books for which one I really want to keep and which ones i can just sell or giveaway. It also made me realize that I'm probably going to have to buy a few new books in both formats, Paper to complete the collection and eBook to actually read ![]() |

! Really?! It's the exact opposite for me. But maybe it depends upon the ereader (I don't have a 505) and the type of book read. I used to end up with wrist cramps from holding up big books, and finger cramps from holding open the pages. My reading experience is much more enjoyable to me now. |

I read a p-book at work during lunch and find it is a real pain as you have to hold the book open with one hand and eat with the other. You then have to stop reading and turn the book over if you need both hands devoted to you lunch
![]() Much easier to read an ebook while eating and I am 100% ebook outside of the office these days. ![]() |

I am in fact reading both a paper book and an e-book at the same time. I'm fine with that. No problems. I didn't buy the e-book readers because I hate paper. Mostly I just got tired of carrying multiple books everywhere.

![]() Plus, when I'm out and about with my Cybook, having just loaded in a mess of new ebooks I've purchased, if I find that one of them isn't quite enjoyable, I can switch to another one. Sure, I *could* do this with dead-trees, but that would mean lugging all of them around instead of just one Cybook. ![]() Derek |

It hasn't really been an option. I got a reader because of poor vision making it hard to read, and that has only gotten worse. I can't read a book at all now. Almost exclusively audiobooks at this point. But I listen on my 505 so that still counts, right?

One of the big advantages to an ebook is the ability to increase the font size. I find I use the medium or large size depending on ebook and rarely use the small size except on ones I create with Calibre.
To try to do that with a p-book you would have to own multiple copies of the same book with different sized fonts. Not quite convenient ![]() |

Whenever I go back to paper books or even back to Television (after watching 99% of my TV shows at the computer), I ALWAYS miss the search function, the skip function, being able to rewind/fast forward through a book/tv show precisely.
When I read a normal newspaper I often miss the search function and resent having to flick through pages to find an article (I'd rather do a single click)... The things we get used to! |

A book's a book. Who cares what form it's in, so long as it's available and convenient?

Certainly it does. I'm sorry to learn your vision have gotten this worse lately. Do you read MobileRead only by listening now?
