Well, hey, it'd be nice if they put the decision-makers up on little pedestals with "It's my fault, hit ME!", but sadly, few companies are that progressive...

My rant? HR depts and sniffy comments about time taken off. No more to say on that score

ROFL!! I just changed my major (a few months back) to Bus. Admin with an emphasis on HR! Wrote this one down for future reference.

This is so unimportant but I either vent or explode.

Why do banks and retail stores train their associates to call customers by their first name? I find it extremely annoying and want to slap the crap outta them.

Today at the drive up window a 22 year old young man actually said to me....."Thanks for you business, Donna, and have a nice day."

Excuse me. I'm over 60, I don't know you, and common courtesy dictates you address people you don't know, in a business establishment by Mr, Mrs, or, God Forbid, Ms. if you must.

Especially if you're still wet behind the ears.

'sigh.

Dang young whippersnappers.

Will Wikipedia ever comprehend that banning a dynamic IP address is at best a fool's errand, at worst a nuisance for legitimate users like myself?

Occasionally HughesNet will assign me once such IP. Theoretically Wikipedia lets you get around this by creating an account and logging in. Unfortunately I don't use my account over there that often, so naturally I forgot my password (and I don't have it set up to autocomplete on this particular computer). And when I tried to reset said password it wouldn't let me because my current IP has been blocked! Now I could understand if the status of the IP was unknown, but most I've run across are clearly marked as being registered to HughesNet on their talk pages.

Thankfully all I had to do was reset my modem so I would be assigned a new IP. But I can only imagine what a headache this could be for less tech savvy users.
