Two please. Too bad it looks like this thing doesn't have very high priority over at E-ink.

A Sony Reader that looked exactly like that would be so great.

Make the paddle less intrusive with one on both sides and you're cooking.

Been there, done that, didn't get the t-shirt.

IOW, this has been 'under development' for so long that I expect to see a real, working, ready-to-buy version when I have grandchildren - this despite his claims they're hoping to have it ready for SID 2007. Sorry, but E-Ink has all the intention of creating a marketable ebook-reader that is has for creating the next greate fast food recipe, IMO.

It is on both sides ... if the display is invertible.

Yeah, it'd be nice if someone did market something like this, though e-ink seems to see it only as a testbed. (sigh)

Perhaps someday ....

Testbed or reference design. Remember that all computer chipset manufacturers (VIA, SIS, nVidia, Intel, etc.) create a reference design of how you can use their chipsets in a motherboard. Many copy these designs exactly while other add or take thnings away from the reference design. Perhaps it will be that way with e-ink in the future.

The positron studies are not as new as the recent buzz might suggest... we talked about them some time ago:

The way they work is cheaper to perform. You don't need marketing staff, no sales point, no distribution and a lot of other expense drain. All they do is provide screens to other manufacturers. It makes good economic sense... in a way.
