Ah, so that was you. I had it almost cornered, almost within reach. I silently reached out, stretched a little, a little more, now without breathing and I... then someone sneezed and it was gone..

Two features I'd absolutely LOVE to see!

And it'd be nice if you see the cover of the last read book at boot-up...

Don't you both realize that firmware updates are a rare, endangered species?! The nerve of you hunting them down ...

Maybe Bookeen is doing the only correct thing: Preserving the update for future generations with a more sophisticated attitiude to such a delicate creature.

Poor wittle update, did those mean readers try to catch you ...?

False Advertising by Bookeen

Bookeen has updated the Cybook specifications to include the following statement:
"Note: Adobe® ePUB/PDF Reader support can be available via firmware upgrade. Adobe and Mobipocket DRMs can not be supported at the same time."
This statement misrepresents the Cybook's existing capabilities. No where in the specifications does it mention that the firmware upgrade has been promised for months, but has yet to materialize.

If Bookeen really have one of those rare update species they should make it available for public viewing, like in a zoo, at least. If we cannot have one, at least let us see one!
So, put it on the web page and remove the download button

This statement misrepresents the Cybook's existing capabilities. No where in the specifications does it mention that the firmware upgrade has been promised for months, but has yet to materialize.
They clearly (?) state: "can be available via firmware upgrade" meaning "ePub support can and may - in its own discretion - choose to be available via a firmware upgrade". But even if the (personified) ePub support chooses to be availabe (which it *can* do but not necessarily really *does*) this would be effected only by a firmware upgrade. While no one will contest that it certainly *is* possible that ePub support *can* be introduced via a firmware upgrade, there is no mention in the text that such FW upgrade already exists or - effectively - ever will.

The statement by Bookeen is an excercise in logic, nevertheless it is not untrue: They merely state the possibility of a theoretical extension of capabilities via a hypothetical FW upgrade.
Just because Bookeen's style is as complicated and roundabout as Jacques Derrida's is no reason for criticism, after all they're both French

No, no, NO....... Please no more new wishes... We really don't want the slightest possibility that Bookeen will try to incorporate them in the forthcoming firmware..........

p.s. Harry really had got me puzzled. I thought he wanted a folder for "books I've almost recently opened" ........ I had to read it three times to see it was most instead of almost.

Which one do you mean - the one we're waiting for or the one not even the most suicidal bookmaker would take any bets on?

This is why we still do not have an update:

http://www.betatales.com/2009/10/02/...aders-in-2010/

Instead of motivating and pep-talking his development-team (he probably IS the development team ) to work overnight to satisfy Bookeen's customers and give them the firmware update they so desperately want, he goes around chitchatting about ereaders and their future.

If Bookeen goes on the way they do now with their fantastic customer support there will soon(oh,oh, not SOON!) be no future for them left in ereaders.
