FedEx Groud Home Delivery used to be Tue-Saturday service, not sure what they do these days or the service Astak used but that would explain the Saturday delivery. BTW, FedEx Ground Home can be the WORST service around...we have had packages which required a sig signed for by F. Rontdoor.

hehehe...yeah, I think FedEx Home hires out of the ankle bracelet gene poll as their drivers. Too bad to because they have excellent prices. Still nice that Astak went with a service that delivers on Saturday...enjoy your new toy!!

Thanks. Although this would be my second time having my new toy. Last one has the problem with paint so I sent it back. Hopefully, I get to keep this one for a long longgg time. Fingers crossed!

Hi to all of you with the "blues", I have the pink reader (just got it as a gift) and it came out of the box that way (wrinkled paint). Woe is me. I sent an email... and I hope to get a new one soon. I am leaning towards getting a black one (or while) so that it won't happen again.

Yeah same here.. got mine (blue) as a gift also yesterday and sent the email off. Waiting for a reply now. mine was shipped Sept 16th, a day before the first message on this thread was posted, so it's a first batch unit.

I preordered the blue and it came with paint problems. I loved the color but decided to go with black as a replacement just in case the paint problems continued. Amy at Astak was very quick to respond and get a label to me to return the blue PEZ with the understanding that my black replacement would be shipped upon receipt. It took a week in transit and when it was received I got an email from Amy that they were out of black and only had white or blue available although there is supposed to be a shipment of black arriving this week. I stuck with getting the black but haven't heard anything back yet. I did ask for it to be sent with faster shipping due to the added delay.

I had the same problem with my Blue one - the e-mail I received from Amy said the black was out of stock, but they would get more this week and ship.

I have not heard yet on my unit shipping, but their web site shows Black in Stock...

Dear Violette:

The paint wrinkling was caused by trying to please China Customs and then rushing them out after overpainting. The second shipment has arrived and these do not need the overspray. You can order the pink and be absolutely positive the finish will be permanent.

I am so sorry for this mistake. But... it was resolved quickly and firmly. The new colours are not a trouble... they are every bit as good as the Black.

As you can imagine, at the first note of the colours possibly wrinkling... there has been an incredible run on the Black. NOW, we have the second shipment arriving of every color including the Black. ALL of the colours are fine and there is no trace of any problem.

At the same time, reviewers started doing their reviews. We got about 15 reviews and the orders poured in. With no colours we wanted to ship... it was more demand on the poor Black. Orders essentially quadrupled within days of the main reviews.

I just spoke with Amy at Astak and she said they were received last night and should be shipping out today. They'll go out the same shipping method as originally so I guess I'll get it next week as I'm on the East coast.
