Just at the time the Pocket Pro special runs out. With the pricing, do I go for a 6" as a second reader?

nice, it could be my first ebook reader. Everything is just fine, save no touch screen(bulkier body) and no dictionary and freestyle note function from PRS-600.

Lack of native support of chinese font is big turn down to me of PRS-600. Otherwise I would choose PRS-600.

Does anyone have any additional information on this reader? There is NO information that I can find regarding a second version of the Astak Mentor Lite, and the pictures posted are identical to the original EB600.

It sure sounds like a great ebook reader, but I don't know if this is based on facts.

I don't see it advertised for sale yet. Having seen the Pocket Pro, I am a believer in 8 grey scales (over 4). The Netronix firmware (e.g. in the Cool-er) has been unstable, but the latest version is an improvement. So Astak was probably wise to let Cool-er, Inves-Book and Elonex users debug the device before introducing their version.

I do agree with you that the Cool-er (horrible name) and others like it had serious firmware issues. I can understand Astak not wanting a part in that. However, with a rumored release date of September 30 (according to this thread), you would think someone would have information somewhere about it. The release date is only 11 days away, supposedly. There is FAR more information about other ebook readers that are much farther down the line than this one. It just strikes me as odd.

I'd like to plunk down my money and buy one but I would like to know what's on the horizon. The PRS-505 still interests me greatly even though it is 2 years old already.

Cool Netronix strikes again...

Another netronix clone... Dear oh dear, how many brands they are making for.
I have began to lost count on netronix EB600 series clones...

Lets hope this one carries an upgrade version of the NTX reader that improves our reading experiences.

The more EB600 clones, the more Netronixs has to develop / improve its software. Which is a good thing for EB600 clone owners.

Cool-er is by far the most outstanding of the EB600 clones thanks to its colour options, but it seems even counting the 6k Coolers sold, few EB600 clones actually hit the market in great numbers.

Wonder what is going on with Netronix! They built for so many, yet they can't produce the numbers....

It really has become impossible to keep track of what Netronix is doing. If you go to their website, there are several additional models supposedly in the works. And according to the release dates, a couple of them are supposed to be out on the market already.

This one that was mentioned, this New Mentor Lite, is not even one of the things listed on their website and yet the supposed release date is now 9 days away. Very confusing and impossible to determine.

Yes. I can clearly see the difference in test images vs the 4 gray scale EZ Reader Basic and also in ebooks with lots of color images like Wallace, Lane. Dreams, Hopes, Realities. Epub V1.0 30 July 2009.
