It may be that the implementation displaying this just simply ran out of space, there may be a full list, but it is not displayed.

I'm afraid they're listing non-English speaking countries (nice for a Spanish girl).

That is extremely interesting. The Pocket Pro costs $199, which in is equivalent to €140, roughly, maybe something more, and according to the actual exchange rate.
The Booken Opus is €240, thus about 100 euros more. Thanks for the clue.

i totally agree with you kennyc! it's seem to me that they run out of space so we get to see only part of the countries allowed to purchase the ebook and maybe as a customer from Italy i'm allowed to buy it but i can discover this only upon checkout!
bye

Yep. Not a good thing. We need to totally remove these geographic/territory restrictions (as well as DRM ).

I have a 505 and it does allow me to bookmark ePub. I've not tried to bookmark PDF, but I'd think that would also work. It's not the format that allows bookmarks or not, it's the viewer software that allows or not.

As of right now, I'd say ePub was your best choice. It's easily convertible to other formats if need be and given that most readers support ePub, you'd be able to use ePub on any future device except the Kindle as Amazon wants complete control and they cannot have it with ePub. PDF is the worst format as an archive format as converting from PDF can sometimes be very problematical.

Once Sony switches their store to ePub, I think Amazon is going to be in for some real trouble. This means it'll be the rest of the readers vs. Amazon and Amazon won't win since they aren't outside the USA.

Today I wanted to download Frostbitten by Kelley Armstrong. The book had the extra bookshelf credit card check, so I used www.hidemyass.com to download the book.
Now the extra bookshelf check is gone.
This is probably related to the recent problem when books bought in the past suddenly had the extra bookshelf check. It looks like the extra bookshelf check now only is activated for books that have never been downloaded.
This makes it at least easier to re-download the book again in the future.

I wonder which books get the extra bookshelf check? This is the first book in my bookshelf where I get this extra check. Is the extra check only active for certain publishers? Or authors? Or only very popular books?

I only have it for one book right now, and that's for The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown from Random House, Inc./Knopf Doubleday. And I have it in ereader format.

I just got the extra credit-card check again for a book "The Inheritance: The World Obama Confronts and the Challenges to American Power" which I doubt is very popular so it must be particular publishers?

The most annoying thing is Fictionwise lets you pay for it before you find out you can't download it. I think if they are going to implement this policy then they should also implement some kind of filtering so it's less frustrating for their customers... I think they've handled the whole thing very poorly.
