Snow Leopard + Calibre 0.6 = CRASH! :( - Page 12

The new version seems to work for me just fine. I had problems converting PDF's but then again I may have gotten these PDF's from, ah, behind the couch

It's working for me without crashing, although I'm finding that it only detects the 505 if it's connected when the app's started, not if its connected while running (Ticket #3607).

Also a lot of QT messages in the log - mentioned here just in case they're of use...

Well, for the first time since upgrading to Snow Leopard, I was able to load Calibre on the very first try (not 10!!), and even convert a book (this would always lead to a crash - the convert would work, and then Calibre would crash). This version is much, much better than the last. Thanks for the update, Kovid.

It appears to work for me now as well, however the window is still huge, and "calibre-debug --update-module" no longer seems to work!

EDIT: sorted the size of the window by deleting the ~/Library/Preferences/calibre directory!

Try renaming the calibre preferences directory to reset the GUI. SHould be something like

~/Library/Preferences/calibre

Also calibre-debug -u has been changed. Instructions for the new way will be in the User Manual when I make the next release.

The change in 13 for snow leopard seems to be successful.

6.13 doesn't work for me unless Rosetta is checked. It then works reasonably well, just a bit slow.

@Pthwaite: Note that you have to use the 0.6.13 version linked to in my post above, not the one downloaded from the calibre website

The one linked in the post seems to me working well for me on Snow Leopard now. I've had a somewhat limited time to test it out though.

The new 6.13 is working without a glitch on my laptop with snow leopard. Great job Kovid! If all is still golden tomorrow, it is time to upgrade my main machine. Yeah!

Is the sl compatible 6.13 going to replace the one on the download page? Are future versions on the download page going to inherit the sl inoculation?

Downloaded calibre 6.14 onto my Mac Pro running Snow Leopard. It works beautifully now!!! Bravo!!! (and BTW thanks)
