I'm terribly sorry... but I have never been able to understand the fascination with American Football. I mean, nothing happens! They just stand around a lot. And if not standing around, they lay in a big pile of guys with one poor dude at the bottom who happens to hold a ball in his hands.

And the darn thing never ends! It just goes on and on and on and on....

Maybe Aussie Rules football is more your thing. There's always something happening, but you've gotta have a degree in footy-watching to understand the scoring... (or so complains my hubby)

I did watch some Aussie rules football a few years ago, they aired some games on one of the sportschannels around here. And it was quite interesting. I especially like the fact that it seemed perfectly ok to run up another guys backside with spiked shoes! So, I show some violent tendancies... sue me

And who need scoring when you have pointless mayhem?

I'm still waiting for BloodBowl to become a real and recognised sport

My brother is the Defense Coordinator for the Bengals (he's the coach in charge of the defense). Last year, the Bengals had a terrible year. They need to do much better this year for the coaching staff to keep their jobs, which is my main interest for their success. Having said that, there is a great deal of strategy involved that doesn't become apparent at first glance.

I do like American football, though. Probably because my dad was a coach.

My son played American Football for a team called Arlanda Jets here in sweden for a few years, and I tried to get involved in it and went to games and such. But I just couldn't get into it. I just tought it a complete waste of a saturday I could have spent ... ohh, I don't know, reading or something instead

I like American Football - although 'football' is a complete misnomer in my opinion.

P.S. And congrats Kaz's brother!!

We've been talking about going to the Ravens/Bengals game when they play in Baltimore in October. I will definitely be bringing my liseuse with me!

Well, this is like 5 years ago, I didn't have my liseuseessesssseeeess (FRACK) at that time. If I had, I could have claimed I studied a playbook or something!

Hey!! That's a great idea. I may just borrow that.

I do like football but am not a crazed fan or anything. I really only watch what's happening with ny brother's team and my nephew's (he's an assistant coach for the New Orlean Saints). NFL games tend to be long but if they're televised, they are exceptionally long with all the breaks for commercials. I actually prefer watching the game at home where I don't have to wait in line to use the restroom!!

Thats how I tend to watch Formula 1... Sitting in my favourite chair by the fireplace, glass of scotch on the table next to me, and Frack turned on, reading most of the time and just glancing at the TV now and then to see whats going on.
