Well, you know......I really don't mean to put Lilac off about the future or anything. I just have a tendency to worry about things that haven't happened (or, in some cases, can't happen - I spent three hours sleepless one night worrying about and planning contingencies for being sued for hypothetically firing a marble with a slingshot at a noisy apartment from a house I no longer live in anymore...that is to say, I'm a total dick).

Quote:
Now, how come your family visits so often???
Oh, you know, because family is important and family is family and family family family blah blah blah [slurping sound is the soul being sucked from my body] blah blah family. Family. Also, I live close to my sister and one of my brothers now, and mother visits my nan and sister about once a month or so, and tries to get everyone else in too.

Quote:
Can't you call your mom and invoke a really dreadful and contagious virus that "ô the injustice!" forces you into a quarantine?
There's an irony. It was them that gave me the flu which lead to the bronchitis, which I suspect is probably the cause of the chest pain (especially after the dust yesterday). Well, that or a mild infarct.

Quote:
How long does the visit last this time? I'll be thinking of you!
Only tonight and tomorrow night, and we then visit her for her birthday on Sunday at my sister's.

Quote:
Oh, and you can focus on another part of the future where you'll be seeing the back of your mom's car, grabbing your bathing suit and heading to the beach with the Loved One and the googies!
My beautiful vision of the future goes like this...

Me: Is anyone visiting? Have we got anything on?
The Loved One: No
Me: Ahhhhhhhhh....

The views were back today too. Just a fine layer of dust over everything. How 'bout you?

That's about it. Well, there's the beach, but, aside from the aforementioned family, you've pretty much covered life here otherwise.

Cheers,
Marc

But to the infamous Dr Montsnmags, the future is wherever he feels like it being today.

Oh. Right. That's a fictional character.

oh sweetie I've gone down that road with this disaster I am dealing with now! my blood pressure had gone sky high, the stress acids were eating a hole in my tummy, and I actually DID end up with the ambulance here late one night!

see about getting into some kind of counseling and then start taking some job aptitude tests (which I'm going to be doing when I get out of here). a job is NOT worth your life! and being miserable in your job just wastes your life

Well my boss had me go to the hospital today because the pain didn't go away and my stomach started cramping. Everything's OK, it was just stress. They have me doing paperpwork from home for the rest of the day and tomorrow. At least I have a good boss, he was really cool about it.

Glad t's nothing more serious than stress, and very glad you have a good boss

Don't forget to work some kitten playtime into the paperwork

Stress can be a real pain. I've seen people needing early retirement on account of it.
Can you look around for other options, Lilac? Or go for counselling and make yourself understand that a person can be too conscientious? You may well be utterly exhausted when you leave work, but a hobby or something might help you to unwind and realise that you are doing a good job but it's now over for the day.

Yeah that's my biggest problem is "shutting off" when I leave work. I have a hard time with that. Reading helps a lot.

I just treated myself to a nice dinner, but now I've dropped my iPhone and the bottom half of the screen doesn't work I went to the AT&T store but they closed as I pulled up. Blegh.

Is it the whole bottom half of the screen or just a part?

If they don't help you and you are willing to hack it (software) I might be able to help you

That's exactly why I do my best to refuse having my workplace pay for a phone and data plan for me. I try to maintain a clear separation between work and home.....doesn't always work of course.....

Put the blackberry in a glass of dry rice

it's the whole bottom half. Its something internal unfortunately.

Okay, so I was with my mother today. We were in the Arby's parking lot when I accidentally bumped the car next to us with my door. Thankfully not hard enough to even leave a mark. But then this lady comes out and starts yelling at us. She claimed I scratched her car! I double checked: There was nothing there. She said we parked funny... we were clearly in the lines. From the tone in her voice she must have been on something.

But it doesn't end there. She went back inside. Then as my mother was looking for a paper to take down their license plate number this other guy walks out, whom was even more obviously out of it. He "showed" my door hitting their car, though in a far more forceful way then I had actually opened it. Now I'm worried these lowlifes are are to try to con my mother for insurance money. Claim it was a hit and run or something. (my Mom did unfortunately panic, thinking these nuts would key her car if she stayed)

Don't worry, they can't. They'd have to file a police report to do that, and the damage would have to be over $500. I found that out after my elderly neighbor backed into my car which resulted with my bumper cracking and popping off.
