I've got a nickname for my EBR (love that acronym) and call it my ipocket! I got tongue tied between Iliad and Ipod. I guess the pocket came from the fact I was surfing the Mobipocket website for e-books at the time. So, no matter what model/brand I own from now on, I'll always call it my ipocket!

Happy Reading!

Can't call it an ipocket. Apple owns all the words starting with a lowercase i.

That only proves the marketing people at Apple don't know their spelling rules.

Not suggesting anybody try and market it as a model name or anything, but just sharing my nickname for it.

I usually call it my book. But that refers more to the book I am reading then the device. As for the device, I call is a Reader. I use uppercase R when referring to a Sony and a lower case r when referring to any other brand or multiple brands.

Jon, you are too funny!! I think we now know where your brand loyalty lies.

If you really want to split hairs, YOU are actually the reader. The device is the DISPLAYER!

That's why I never mention I'm reading on an electronic book reader. I'm just reading a book... No need to give more information than that. And when people see my Mini or JE100 on my desk, I'll just call them that, Mini and JE100...

Let's just agree to call it a Kindle. That way, when people ask, "Is that a Kindle?", we can just say "Yes" and be done with it!

Disclaimer: I enjoy talking about my reader and have helped several people get started with one.

Except you can't buy them in Australia (I wish I had a Kindle), but I get your point jlb, just keep it simple, and get on with the reading!!! I'm with you on that one.

Why? Because it's masculine instead of feminine or because of the "lect-" stem instead of "lis-"?

I voted for "Don't really care that much, won't use it", I'm already using a foreign language anyway.
