I would much prefer to keep romance to December 2010. The other swaps don't make much sense when keeping romance to December.

We have two SF slots within two months of each other. I would suggest swapping the November and May slots so we have SF in May and Classics in Nov.

Whatever category we have for December, it would be nice if it were "open" to "Christmassy" books, even if not exclusively for such.

You can celebrate the "spirit" of Christmas regardless of your personal religious beliefs, Jon. I am not a Christian, but I still celebrate it.

And I put romance in June because June is a really popular month for getting married.

You really want a mystery for February I guess Doesn't matter one way or the other to me. Why "(uploaded to MR)" though? |

There is still the problem that there are two "SF" entries only two months apart - in Nov and Jan. I really would suggest swapping the Jan one for the May "Classics".

Presuming the schedule stays the same for 2011 then yes, May or July would probably be better for the second one.

Possibly-irrelevant tangent: I'm a bit blurry on the definition of "classics." Does that mean any book in the public domain, or books commonly assigned to students to read?

Is this better? January 2010 Science Fiction/Fantasy February 2010 Mystery/Thriller March 2010 Nonfiction April 2010 Humor May 2010 Classic June 2010 Romance (uploaded to MR) July 2010 Autobiography/Biography August 2010 Science Fiction/Fantasy (uploaded to MR) September 2010 Mystery/Thriller (uploaded to MR) October 2010 Horror November 2010 Any book not at MR December 2010 Any book uploaded to MR |

I've seen it defined many ways... Any PD book Any PD book that's popular enough to still be in print Any book at least 40-50 years old that's popular enough to still be in print

I like the idea of "classic" being "any PD book that's popular enough to still be in print."
