Ok, problem solved.
I've just spent many hours trying to get this thing to work ........
delete folders, uninstall, re-install, downgrade, upgrade and the list goes on.

So, I've decided .............. I'm just going to use ADE instead.
Worked perfectly first time.

Wow, good for you. I have had nothing but trouble with ADE and was glad to replace it with Sony library!

i had nothing but problems with sony library for ade stuff, so i went back to using ade.

The only problem I've had with Sony Library and library books is when I Return Early, the library sometimes hangs.

It may be a simple thing but it no longer shows how many books are in the library and how many are on the reader. I like to be able to see the same number on the library and the reader so that I know I haven't missed transfering anything.

I was just wondering if everyone got this working on Windows or did you all just revert to the old version and are hovering until Sony sends out a new update? I tried installing 3.0 four times on Windows xp sp3 and it worked until I added my library to it, then it just froze up. With 2.5, all I did was add my lrf's and it worked as before. Why would the newer version lock up with lrf's unless they wrote it to work with epub and crippled the lrf support? Just wondering.

I have a new - and strange problem. The library crashes whenever I try to move a book to the Reader's main memory. It works fine to send stuff to the card - but trying to move it to the Reader is an instant crash.

Funny that. (Oh and I'm using Vista 32 on a Vaio).

I just went back to version 2.5. After an evening spent with Sony tech support with no workable solution, I uninstalled version 3 and went back to 2.5. I decided it wasn't that important that I find a way to make version 3 work on my computer, especially when so many are having issues with version 3.

Many GUI problems with Sony Reader Library can be fixed by renaming or removing the kinoma folder, as someone in a previous posting mentioned. And there is no need to re-install the software, it will automatically re-create this kinoma with initial settings.

On Windows 7, this kinoma folder is here:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\kinoma

On Windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\kinoma

On Mac OSX just delete this file (not a folder):

~/Library/Preferences/fsk/1/com.kinoma.fskin.ktStart-kBook.xml
