Today's the first day of Oktoberfest. I seems the whole world has come to Munich. So I'm wondering why I still see familiar faces / avatars in the Lounge. Are you still at home or what? Put your Leathertrousers on and hurry! First litre of beer will be served in less than 10 hours.....

I must be a very sound sleeper. When I went to bed last night it was still September! This morning is October? OK... so what if I lost two weeks. Let's meet in Marionplatz, in front of the knife shop. First round is on me!

I can't make it to Munich this year but have attended a few Oktoberfests in the past and always had a good time. I may see if I can make it to Helen, Georgia for their version of Oktoberfest.

Ah, I've been to Octoberfest in Munich several times and each one was a treat. In fact, this is where I discovered the odd fact that, the more beer you drink, the better your German becomes. Go figure.

Ah, ich habe zu Oktoberfest in München mehrfach und jeder war ein Vergnügen. In der Tat ist dieses, wo ich die seltsame Tatsache heraus, dass, je mehr Sie trinken Bier, desto besser wird Ihr Deutsch. Kann mir nicht vorstellen, warum.

Well, it is october by the time it ends, so thats close enough.

Besides, it increases the chance of nice weather while its on, stumbling your way home is a lot less annoying if you aren't being rained on.

The restaurant where we had the first meet-up celebrated Oktoberfest last weekend. No rides but great music, fantastic dancing, and the bells. 3+ tents. A wonderful time.
