I have watched the way the price of this (pbook) has dropped in the UK you can buy the hardback for less than £5. Why? I wondered, then I started to see the reviews, so I guess everybody is dumping the book at any price before the public realise that it is not worth buying - but then that is only my opinion.

I am reading Sacred by Dennis Lehane and will probably read the rest of the books in the series directly after I finish it. I really like this hardboiled style in crime books. As good or better than Sara Paretsky.

I had about the same experience, but always wonder what others are thinking -- particularly in this case where the incentive seems more to finish the series than it is to read because it is captivating.

Ok... I think I decided thanks to Dgs poll that I will read Paris's Bio Steven Jordan next. Now, to buy one of his bundles or individual books. I know I want to read _The Lens_ and _Verdant Skys_ then after that I will tackle _Pillars_.

Is _Verdant Skys_ a stand alone or is it a sequel to something else?

I finished The Lost Symbol yesterday, and as I posted already, it wasn't the best book I ever read, but neither was it anywhere near to the worst. *shrug*. Now I'm back to finishing the Kim Harrison "Rachel Morgan" series. After that, at the moment I have no clue.

I think it is very patchy, the first 2 books were good-ish and an easy read, the next 2-3 weren't as good but weren't bad enough to say I'm not reading this, then I read somewhere that it picks up again on books 6-8 which it did, unfortunately now that I'm half way through book 9 which has really gone down hill (I don't like the two characters that it is mainly about) but there's only a book and a half left to read so I feel as I've got this far I should finish it, I would never recommend it to anyone. But I remember really liking Battlefield Earth, which is why I bought Mission Earth in the first place

13 and 12. The Lost Symbol, chapter 1: He was sitting all alone in the enormous cabin of a Falcon 2000EX corporate jet as it bounced its way through turbulence. In the background, the dual Pratt & Whitney engines hummed evenly.
The Da Vinci Code, chapter 17: Yanking his Manurhin MR-93 revolver from his shoulder holster, the captain dashed out of the office.
Oh – the Falcon 2000EX with the Pratt & Whitneys? And the Manurhin MR-93? Not the MR-92? You’re sure? Thanks.
